Praise to the Lamb

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

‘Salvation belongs to our God,

who sits on the throne,

and to the Lamb.’

All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, saying: ‘Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!’

Rev 7:9-12

One minority brother shared with me a powerful testimony of healing. When he was two years old he became very sick. His father took him to a hospital in the closest city. After the doctor examined the little boy, he told the father not to pay him, for his son would die. The doctor said he was virtually certain that the little boy would not survive. The sad father began the journey back home, carrying his sick little son. On the way the father noticed that the little boy had stopped breathing. He cried out to God and asked him to heal his son. He declared that if God would heal his son and allow him to live, he would dedicate the boy to God’s service. When he arrived home and laid his son down, the little boy immediately asked for food. He quickly recovered and the father then gave him the name, Song Gao. He also retained the family name, according to Chinese custom; but the father gave him the name Song (praise) Gao (Lamb) or ‘praise to the Lamb’. This little boy grew to adulthood and is now a powerful church leader.

Lord, I look forward to that day when I will join my Miao, Lisu, Mosuo and Tibetan brothers and sisters – and countless others from every nation, tribe, people and language group – and together with one voice we will sing of your greatness. I worship you for you are strong and powerful, like a roaring lion. But you are also loving and full of grace, like a lamb. The Lion of Judah and the Lamb that was slain, you perfectly embody true power and love. Salvation comes from you and you alone. For you and you alone are worthy. You alone purchased the nations with your blood. You alone hold the destiny of nations in your hand. Praise be to the Lamb!
